Mad Dog 1st & 2nd Grade Fiddlestix
The Fiddlestix program uses soft balls and modified lacrosse sticks and a no contact rule to make this a safe, fun way to learn about lacrosse. This program is currently offered in the spring and is open to all girls and boys grades K-2. The program runs on Tuesdays, 4/27 -6/5, 5:00-6:00, at the Shenendehowa practice fields. Boys 3rd and 4th Grade CDYLL
Shen 3rd 4th grade boys play in the Capital District Youth Lacrosse League (CDYLL) and play teams from neighboring lacrosse communities. The boys play a 7 on 7 format on a shortened field. At this level, proper catching and throwing techniques along with a basic understanding of lacrosse and it's skills is the only goal. This should be a fun introduction into the world of lacrosse. There is never any contact allowed at this level. US Youth Lacrosse rules are followed. Programs run from mid April to mid June. Full lacrosse equipment is required (mouth piece, helmet, shoulder pads, arm pads, gloves, stick, cleats). Optional but strongly recommended gear: athletic supporter & cup and rib pads.

Boys 5th and 6th Grade CDYLL
Shen 5th 6th boys play in the Capital District Youth Lacrosse League (CDYLL) as well as attend some local tournaments. The boys play a 10 on 10 format on regulation size fields. It is the next step in teaching the fundamentals of lacrosse such as dodging, stick work and offensive and defensive schemes. This level is a little more intense but still no body checking allowed.US Youth Lacrosse rules are followed. Programs run from mid April to mid June. Full lacrosse
equipment is required (mouth piece, helmet, shoulder pads, arm pads, gloves, stick, cleats). Optional but strongly recommended gear: athletic supporter & cup and rib pads.

Boys 7th and 8th Grade CDYLL
Shen 7th & 8th grade boys play in the Capital District Youth Lacrosse League (CDYLL). This program is designed to prepare the boys for their high school lacrosse experience. The boys play a 10 on 10 format on
regulation size fields. These games are refereed by NYS Certified refs and follow the NYS Jr. High school/modified rules and regulations. Some body checking is allowed. Programs run from mid April to mid June. Full lacrosse
equipment is required (mouth piece, helmet, shoulder pads, arm pads, gloves, stick, cleats). Optional but strongly recommended gear: athletic supporter & cup and rib pads.

Boys 7th and 8th Developmental
The Developmental Program is designed to give 7/8 graders an introduction to Shen Scholastic Lacrosse. There are two practices a week and 3 tournaments (two are out of the area) It requires a considerable level of commitment and players are expected to attend all practices and games.

Mad Dog 7th & 8th Grade Junior Summer Travel
Open to all Shen 7/8th grade lacrosse players . The team has two practices a week at Shen and travels to 3 tournaments. The team is coached by Coach Holohan, Shen Varsity Coach.
Open to all 9-12th grade lacrosse players. The team practices two days a week at Shen and travels to 3 recruiting tournaments. The team is coached by Coach Olsen and Coach Orzano.
"Fall Ball"
Mad Dog offers a "Fall Ball" program at Shen fields that runs from mid-September -mid-November. It includes two practices a week and 3-4 tournaments and is offered at the 7/8 and 9-12th grade level.
"Skills & Drills"
Mad Dog offers indoor skills and drills from mid-November to the end of March. The program develops fundamental lacrosse skills using drills and limited scrimmaging. This program is offered at the 6,7,8th and 9-12th grade levels.
Indoor Travel Program
Mad Dog has a travel tournament program that attends several indoor tournaments throughout the winter. Currently the program is offered at the 9-12th grade level.
